RSCA-Waasland Beveren 2-0

Anderlecht defeated Waasland Beveren this weekend with 2-0. Anderlecht dominated the game and scored via Biglia and Jovanovic. Because of the defeat of Bruges against OHL, Anderlecht are now co-leaders.


The game was played at an overall slow pace, though Anderlecht did not have a lot of problems dominating the match. Waasland Beveren tried to put up a defensive wall and counter attack, but they were never really dangerous.

Anderlecht, without the injured Mbokani, seemed to have problems breaking down the visiting defence. De Sutter was closely guarded and Jovanovic and Bruno had problems penetrating over the wing. Halfway the first half, the goal fell. Biglia scored after a quick combination through the centre: 1-0.

The second half brought more of the same. De Sutter missed a good chance when he dribbled past the goalkeeper, but placed the ball on the crossbar. Jovanovic was then sent through Beveren's defence. He lifted the ball over the goalie into the empty goal: 2-0. From then on, Anderlecht let Beveren have the ball and counter attacked themselves. The scoreline didn't change anymore though.
