Anderlecht got eliminated from the Champions League by losing 1-3 against Milan. The Mauves dominated practically the whole match but the Italian side was more efficient.

The first ten minutes were for Milan with some dangerous actions. But then Anderlecht took control. Jovanovic appeared alone in front on the goalkeeper but his shot was saved. A bit later Praet's effort missed the target for centimeters. Milan restored the balance in the game a bit but Anderlecht kept trying to force the opening. Before the break Mbokani's header was saved before the line and went into corner.

The second half just started when El Shaarawy scored. Gillet left the striker alone and scored. Anderlecht got a mental blow and not much later it became worse. Kouyate was pulled down on the midfield but the referee didn't respond. Seconds later Nuytinck stopped the Milan attack and got red for it. In the resulting free kick Mexes scored.

With ten men Anderlecht moved forward again and Milan focussed on counter attacking. De Sutter succeeded in scoring the 1-2 and a bit later Deschacht missed an open chance on 2-2. In the last minute Pato decided the game: 1-3.
