RSC Anderlecht did not have any problems with Beerschot this weekend. The Mauves won 1-4 and remain first in the ranking.

Anderlecht dominated the whole match, from the beginning to the end. The Brussels' team created lots of chances but were trailing after 15 minutes of play when Laerenbergh finished a good counter attack.

Anderlecht resolutely took control again, but seemed to have problems with the massive home defence. Though Bruno equalised and a few minutes later Mbokani header the 1-2 on the scoreboard. This was also the score at half time.

In the second half, the Belgian champions were never really threatened again and scored 1-3 on penalty (Gillet). Ten minutes before the end of the match, Iakovenko scored the 1-4 in the rebound, after Mbokani was stopped by goalie Van Langendonck.
