Update on the stadium enlargement

The municipality of Anderlecht agreed with the stadium enlargement of the club, but it also formulated suggestions and objections. If also the Brussels Capital Region agrees, the club can enlarge the stadium capacity to 28.000.


Yet the municipality formulated objections about the shade such a stadium would produce on the surrounding houses. Also the traffic problem remains. There is insufficient parking.

Though in our opinion, the municipality just wants to slow down the process. Enlarging a stadium without making it higher and thus without creating extra shade seems impossible. And all the visiting cars are a goldmine for Anderlecht since they charge five euros per hour for parking in the streets on matchdays!

The club announced they have read the suggestions and notes they are not mandatory.
