Anderlecht win and play for title on Sunday

Anderlecht defeated Lokeren Thursday evening with 2-4. Kljestan, De Zeeuw and Suarez (2x) scored the goals for Anderlecht. Zulte Waregem defeated Club Bruges which means Anderlecht and Zulte Waregem play on Sunday for the title.


Anderlecht started with Wasilewski and Deschacht in the line-up to replace the suspended Gillet and Safari. Biglia turned out to be sick and was replaced by De Zeeuw. Also Bruno is still bothered by a light injury and he was replaced by Jovanovic.

Anderlecht started very well and after 25 minutes Kljestan scored the 0-1 with a header on an assist of Wasilewski. Lokeren became stronger, but Maric missed a penalty. The home side kept playing well, but just wasn't efficient. Anderlecht controlled the match and close to half time Suarez scored 0-2.

After the break, fans got more of the same. Lokeren had some chances, but Proto kept the nill on the scoreboard for now. Suarez quickly made his third and De Zeeuw put the fourth goal into the net. Anderlecht then replaced some of their keyplayers and Lokeren benefited from it by scoring two deserved goals: 2-4.

Zulte Waregem defeated Club Bruges with a 5-2 score. The Brugians quickly had to continue with ten. This also means that Anderlecht and Zulte Waregem will decide in a direct confrontation which team is going to win the title (on Sunday). Bruges is knocked out of the title race and plays for the third place against Genk.
