Anderlecht beat AA Ghent yesterday with 4-1. After a slow start, Anderlecht quickly scored two goals halfway the first half. The Mauves added one more early in the second half, deciding the game. Acheampong did the rest.

Anderlecht and Ghent both took a slow start which some chances on both sides on the field. The opening goal fell when a free kick ended up with Kljestan. He placed the ball into the goal from a short distance: 1-0. Not much later, the home side celebrated again. A quick combination over four players placed Praet alone in front of the goal. He doubled the lead.

When Bruno scored the third of the evening just after half-time, the game was over. Ghent tried to limit the damage and Anderlecht controlled the match. 20 minutes before the end, Frank Acheampong made his debute. Not much later, the young striker showed his quality: a long throw of Proto ended up with Acheampong. The Ghanese started a run on his own half of the field. He avoided a sliding tackle and stormed towards the goal. He concluded his run by placing the ball perfectly in the bottom right corner: 4-0.

Anderlecht had chances to score even more, especially via De Zeeuw. But the goal fell, in injury time, on the other side. A deviated ball on the upright returned into play and ended up with Pedersen, who put the final score on the scoreboard: 4-1.
