Acheampong impresses the Anderlecht fans

Yesterday, the Anderlecht fans got to know Frank Acheampong. Many had already heard about his excellent performance with Anderlecht's U21 team, but against Ghent he made his debute in the first team.


Acheampong, a young Ghanese stiker of 19 years old, came to Anderlecht last season. He used to play for Buriram in Thailand. Last season, he made a good impression with Anderlecht's U21 team, especially on the tournament of Viareggio in Italy. He was added to Anderlecht's first team during the summer break.

Yesterday he also impressed the general crowd. After a long run, that started in his own half of the field, he managed to avoid a sliding tackle and score. Acheampong immediately ran to the coach after his goal: "I wanted to thank him because this is like a dream coming true. The fans even chanted my name. It was a great feeling."

Acheampong might even be the fastest player in the Anderlecht team. But he isn't so sure himself: "Bruno is also fast", he reacted. Many call him 'the Ghanese Messi', a comparison he doesn't like: "I am Frank. I play my own games. I don't like to be compared with Messi."

What is for sure, is that the Anderlecht fans are eagerly waiting to see more about the striker...
