Who has to make room for Mitrovic?

Anderlecht will be able to count on Mitrovic for the first time this Sunday. The Serbian striker will probably start on the bench, but most likely he will start on the pitch next time. But who will have to make room for him?

Once he's acclimatized to the environment, he will be the front striker of Anderlecht without any doubt. Matias Suarez used to play on that position in the last few matches, but probably won't be playing on that position anymore. But it's highly unlikely that Suarez won't get a spot in the starting line-up. Who should fear of being replaced then? Massimo Bruno shouldn't worry about his right-wing position. The top scorer of the league started very well this season, and is starting to move some steps forwards in his career.

So this means Frank Acheampong and Dennis Praet remain. Acheampong is kinda new and hasn't the "biggest name" of him and Praet. But the Ghanese player is performing better than Praet at this moment. He's very active and can show some nice statistics. Moreover, Suarez plays better in a central position near the front striker. So we're afraid that the attacking midfielder (Praet) needs to start playing better in order not to lose his spot in the starting line-up. But we could also expect a less good period of Frank Acheampong.

Reactions Acheampong and Praet

La Dernière Heure interviewed Acheampong and Praet and asked about their fear of ending up on the bench. "I have to stay focused. Of course I want to play every match, but it's not up to me to decide that", tells Acheampong.

"It's logic the board wants to attract big names to increase the intern rivalry", says Praet. "I didn't see Mitrovic playing yet and I don't care about it in fact." However, Praet thinks Suarez always should play. "But he can play on any attacking position. He's a different type of player compared to Mitrovic, and they can be very dangerous together. We're really looking forward to the arrival of our new striker."
