Defour in the picture again?

Anderlecht are still looking for reinforcements on the midfield. It became clear there is a lack of experience and no leader. The Mauves are especially looking for internationals who need to play games with the upcoming World Cup.


One of them is Belgian international Steven Defour of FC Porto. Defour plays now and then and is not performing badly in Portugal. But federal coach Wilmots was clear: "My players need to play frequently or they won't be in the national selection." And that worries Defour apparently. He is not against leaving Porto during the winter break.

Defour's manager already stated that Anderlecht is "a nice club", though he stresses the club did not yet contact his player. It's also uncertain whether Proto will be willing to let Defour leave.
