On Sunday, Anderlecht demonstrated to be growing to a better form. With mature football the Mauves stopped the winning streak of AA Ghent. Trailing at half time, Bruno converted a penalty in the second half. Mitrovic did the rest.

Anderlecht played an excellent game in Ghent, but yet faced a 1-0 at half time. The Belgian champions dominated the match, but neither side could create large chances. The goal of the home team was lucky: the ball deflected on an Anderlecht defender, fell on top of the crossbar and was scored in the rebound: 1-0. After the goal, Ghent had one other large chance, but Proto neutralised the danger with an excellent safe.

Anderlecht, despite playing well in the first half, raised the pace after the break. The home team was pushed back and couldn't even produce a dangerous counter attack. Van den Borre was brought down in the box, but the referee did not react. A bit later, Mitrovic was pushed in the penalty area. This time, the referee was more attentive and Bruno converted the penalty: 1-1.

The Mauves kept attacking and not much later Mitrovic headed the ball, via the post, against the net: 1-2. That same Mitrovic had two open chances a bit later, but missed both. Also Van den Borre could have scored, but the scoreline remained unchanged.

With this victory, Anderlecht climb to the second place in the ranking. The Brussels' team share their spot with Bruges and Zulte Waregem. Leaders Standard have four points more.
