Baseggio maybe against Charleroi, Mbo will rest

It looked bad for Walter Baseggio on Saturday (kick in the kidney), but the medical staff of Anderlecht was very optimistic yesterday about his playing chances for the next competition match against Charleroi.

But they aren't positive about Mbo Mpenza's injury. He has a hand injury, and the medical staff wants him to rest for at least one week. If Mbo Mpenza plays now, he might be out for several months. Of course, the Mauves wouldn't be happy with that.

"The medical staff of the national team will examine Mbo Mpenza and Walter Baseggio before the training on Monday", said the national coach. "We will take a decision after the tests. I know Mbo will visit a hand surgeon first. I called him, and he was optimistic. I'll just have to wait now."
