Anderlecht are now alone behind competition leader Standard. The Mauves took 3 points in the confrontation with Club Bruges. Mitrovic opened the score in the first half and N'Sakala doubled the lead one minute before the end.
Anderlecht very quickly took control over the match and put the visitors under pressure. With Cyriac and Mitrovic, Van den Brom had lined up two strikers to keep the Brugian defenders busy. Yet a lot of open chances weren't produced, mainly because the last pass wasn't good enough. The first chance was even for Bruges with an effort from distance. Slowly but surely, some smaller chances for Anderlecht came. The goal fell five minutes before half time. On a corner kick, the ball was not cleared from the box. Via Gillet, the ball arrived with Mitrovic who scored from a close distance.
In the second half, Bruges dominated. Anderlecht relied on their defence and tried to counter attack. Most attempts weren't successful, again because the last pass simply wasn't good enough. Bruges had a lot of ball possession, but they couldn't get any real chance. Kaminski only had to save one effort. Besides this sterile pressure, the visitors could not come close to a goal. One minute before the end, N'Sakala decided the match when his hard shot went into the right corner of the goal: 2-0.
