West Ham now in pole position for Kouyaté

Cheikhou Kouyaté still hasn't chosen his destination for the next season. A deal with Valencia seemed close, but the midfielder has been spotted on the Eurostar, probably on his way to London (to talk with West Ham).


A Spanish newspaper wrote today that Valencia will not make any further attempts to land the Senegalese player after his transfer price had risen to 10 million euro. The Spanish side was prepared to offer something close to 8 million.

West Ham now seems to have the best papers. Kouyaté always indicated he would like to play in the Premier League and the English club seems to be ready to offer the necessary amount of money.

Meanwhile, Anderlecht also offered him an improved contract.
