Anderlecht defeated Kortrijk yesterday and stays at the top of the table. The Mauves won with 2-3 thanks to goals of Defour (on penalty), Mitrovic and Kljestan.

Kortrijk dominated most of the match, but Anderlecht proved to be more efficient. The home side had opened with an early offensive, but the goal fell on the other side: Acheampong was brought down in the box and Defour took the penalty perfectly: 0-1. Kortrijk reacted and created chances, but a good goalkeeper Roef (Proto just became father and did not play) kept the nil. Also the referee helped a hand: Chevalier scored, but the referee had seen a foul. Also Anderlecht had chances, but could not score.

Kortrijk launched another offensive after the break. Anderlecht was able to prevent conceding a goal with a lot of fighting spirit, but was unable to develop good combination football themselves. But that did not prevent the Belgian champions from doubling their lead: on a counter attack, Cyriac held off two defenders. He passed to Mitrovic, who turned around his defender and placed the ball next to goalkeeper Keet: 0-2.

Anderlecht now dominated and kept looking for a third goal, but when Kljestan lost the ball on the midfield, Dierickx could score for Kortrijk: 1-2. The American midfielder corrected his mistake a bit later: he lifted the ball over goalkeeper Keet on a counter attack. But when right back Colin (who replaced the injured Vanden Borre) jumped against his own goalkeeper, he allowed Kortrijk to score via Pavlovic: 2-3. But time had run out for Anderlecht's opponents, and the scoreline remained unchanged.
