Anderlecht and Bruges shared the points yesterday in an excellent match (2-2). That way, the Brugians remain on the first position in the ranking.

Bruges came to Anderlecht with a good tactical plan. The visitors put high pressure on the Belgian champions which prevented them from creating chances. The best opportunities where for Bruges with a good Vasquez. He scored on a free kick that went past everybody, including goalkeeper Proto: 0-1.

A few minutes later, Praet equalised after a nice action. His shot went in via the post: 1-1. Bruges took control again, but De Sutter and Izquierdo were stopped by Proto.

The game changed in the second half: Anderlecht increased the pace and now had total control. The chances followed soon and when Deschacht scored on a corner kick, the Mauves took the lead: 2-1. Anderlecht wanted to finish the game now and kept creating chances. Kljestan, who had replaced Defour, was stopped by Ryan. Kawaya was sent deep and appeared alone in front of keeper Ryan, but he didn't keep his cool and missed.

All the missed chances wouldn't remain unpunished. With just ten minutes left, Bruges regained hope on a late equaliser. Conté pulled down Rafaelov in the box: penalty. But goalkeeper Proto made the right choice and stopped Simons' effort. But it wasn't over yet: Vasquez' free kick in minute 89 again flew past everyone. Proto, being pushed away by Castillo, was unable to react and the ball ended up against the net: 2-2. The protest from the Anderlecht players was in vain. The match ended in a draw.
