Anderlecht defeated by Valencia

Anderlecht lost their first game in the Champions League. Jestrovic was sick and didn't play. In the first half, Anderlecht seemed sick too. Broos' line-up showed many problems.


Valencia were the better team in the first half. The Spanish side walked through the Anderlecht defense. Vincente opened the score after a huge mistake of Zitka.
Anderlecht tried to react and put more pressure on Valencia, but shortly before half-time, the home side scored again through Baraja: 2-0.

In the second half, Zitka saved a ball from Vicente. Zetterberg came in for Anderlecht. The Mauves pushed forward, but they couldn't score. Aruna had the best chance, but his header went out on the wrong side of the post.
