National coach Aimé Antheunis has announced the selection for the third match of the qualifying group stage for the WC football 2006 in Germany. Emile Mpenza is back again.
La Louvière-goalkeeper Silvio Proto was called up for the first time. Belgium will play against the republic of Serbia and Montenegro in Brussels on 17 November.
The selection: the goalkeepers Tristan Peersman and Silvio Proto; the defenders Philippe Clement, Olivier Deschacht, Vincent Kompany, Timmy Simons, Olivier De Cock, Daniel Van Buyten, Jelle Van Damme, Joos Valgaeren and Peter Van der Heyden; midfielders Roberto Bisconti, Koen Daerden, Walter Bassegio, Gaëtan Englebert; and the strikers Thomas Buffel, Mbo Mpenza, Emile Mpenza, Stein Huysegems and Wesley Sonck.
