Anderlecht beat Brugge

Anderlecht have stunned Brugge with a dramatic victory. Jestrovic scored the winning goal 5 minutes before time. Ceh had opened the for Brugge in the 1st half. Vanderhaeghe made the equaliser with a great shot. Final score: 2-1.


After one minute of silence for the death of Raymond Goethals, both teams started well. Brugge had the first chance of the game, but Tihinen intercepted the final pass.
Anderlecht had a few chances, but it was Brugge that opended the score through Ceh. The Mauves came close to an equaliser, but Butina saved several times.

In the second half, Anderlecht raised the pace and the Brugians were pushed back. The fans yelled the Brussels team forward, but each time, Butina saved. Until Vanderhaeghe's brilliant kick from 20 meter went into the goal: 1-1.
RSCA were now looking for the winning goal. Mpenza saw his effort saved by a good Butina. Aruna missed an open chance. Whilhelmsson broke through the defense, but was also stopped. Five minutes before time, Aruna could make his way through the Brugian defensive line. He passed to Jestrovic who scored: 2-1.
