Anderlecht lost again two valuable points. This time in Lierse. The game seemed like a copy of the one of last week: enough chances to win, but a lack of concentration and bad luck kept the Mauves from a victory.

Anderlecht started well with high pressure, but it was the home side that scored first. Fassotte's effort was deflected by Anderlecht defender Traoré, who beat his own keeper that way.

The Mauves increased the pressure, but were unlucky. Jestrovic' ball came off the post and referee Vervecken took a few curious decisions.

In the second half, Anderlecht bombarded Lierse goalkeeper Van der Straete, but he managed to keep his nets clean. A penalty foul on Aruna wasn't seen by the referee. A bit later, that same Aruna was sent off for hitting Milenkovic. On the other side, Smet escaped from a second yellow card for a clear hands ball.

20 minutes before time, Jestrovic was brought down in the box by Smet: penalty. Jestrovic took his responsibility, but his shot went wide over the target.
Anderlecht kept pushing forward and after 87 minutes, Deschacht was tackled in the penalty area. It was Jestrovic again who took it, against the will of trainer Franky Vercauteren, who was furious. This time, the striker scored though. Final result: 1-1.
