Anderlecht lost 1-2 to Genk, though it put in a much-improved performance. The team started strong and created a big early chance through Dolberg, but Genk gradually took control and opened the scoring in the 33rd minute. Huerta gave Anderlecht hope with a well-taken header in the 77th minute, but El Ouahdi sealed the win shortly after with a powerful strike.
Despite the loss, this was Anderlecht's best showing against a top-3 side this season. The team played with intensity early on but struggled to convert in the final third. Defensively, especially on the right flank, Anderlecht looked vulnerable — a problem exacerbated by Dreyer's departure and Sardella's injury.
After the break, Genk remained in control and capitalized on Anderlecht's defensive lapses. Two moments of poor marking and sloppy defending led to both goals. While Genk had more chances overall, Dolberg's early opportunity could have changed the game.
