FLASHBACK Dieumerci Mbokani made his debut on 22 September 2006 in an away match against Charleroi (1-1). On loan from TP Mazembe, "Dieu" couldn't immediately break into the starting eleven.
However, against Beveren, he scored a hat-trick, as did Mbark Boussoufa. Anderlecht went on to win the league title that season. After not receiving a contract extension, he made the switch to Standard Liège. Over time, Mbokani developed into a true powerhouse with refined technical skills. At Standard, he formed a prolific partnership with Milan Jovanović. That formidable duo would later reunite at Anderlecht (2011–2013). Mbokani played 62 games in the purple-and-white shirt, scoring 38 goals (34 of which came during his second spell). He also claimed the Belgian Golden Shoe and secured two league titles in Brussels.
