"Serhat" will be on the shirt with the number 24, not "Akin". But that doesn't matter, as long as he fulfills his duty: scoring. Serhat talks about his future in Anderlecht.

"I could have earned a higher wage. But that isn't important at this moment." He scored twice in his first match for Anderlecht, but that doesn't impress him. "That kind of games don't mean anything. I want to play matches that are important as soon as possible", he said.

Serhat Akin already has a nickname in Anderlecht: Senna. "Wilhelmsson was the first one to call me that way. The other players followed", Serhat laughed. Why did the striker choose Anderlecht instead of another topteam? "I want to play in Spain eventually. So Anderlecht is a step closer to that dream. I really want to make it here. I want to score and to give assists. I want to make the stadium explode. I'm looking forward to playing in the Champions League. I've already played among twenty matches with Fenerbahçe in the CL."

He is the successor of Aruna Dindane in Anderlecht. "I don't know him", says Serhat Akin. "I'm not better or worse than him. I don't feel any pressure. After five years in Turkye, I know how to deal with pressure. Press are all over the place 24 hours a day there."

Karlsruhe, where he was brought up, isn't far away. So Serhat will see his parents more often. His brother Serkan followed him to Brussels and plays in the youth squad.
