The Belgian national U23-team have regained their first position in their group, after an easy 5-0 win against San Marino. Serbia-Montenegro had lost their game against Spain with 2-0.

The first two teams of each group qualify for the European Championship in Germany next year.

At half-time, the 4-0 was on the score board, after four goals of Club Bruges-striker Yulu-Matondo. But the strong forward had to leave the pitch, after a collision with the goalie of San Marino. He would have an arm fracture. Former Anderlecht-player Maarten Martens scored the 5-0 close before the whistle. San Marino also received a red card.

Anderlecht-midfielder Mark De Man was in the starting line-up, and was replaced by Detal in the 79th minute.
