Despite the good game and the small defeat of Anderlecht in London, the British tabloids were very negative for Anderlecht. Here are some English comments...

The Sun: "Despite the 4,000 Anderlecht-fans, there were less spectators than a normal game against a team from the First Division. And Anderlecht did not deserve any better."

The Times: "Chelsea-fans thought Anderlecht were a disguised Sunderland. Goalie Cech had the same calm evening, just like the Chelsea-fans."

Daily Express: "Anderlecht don't have any ambition. Never seen a team that is happy after a defeat."

Daily Star: "Anderlecht was weak, and they have a strange goalkeeper. They were no danger to Chelsea."
