Anderlecht striker Clayton Zane could be forced to retire at the age of 28 after failing to overcome a long-term knee injury. Zane has been out of action since November last year, and is no nearer a return.
His contract with Anderlecht expires at the end of the season, and the Australian is having to accept he may not play again.
Zane joined the club in 2002 but has been dogged by injuries which have prevented him from making a major impact. Manager Herman van Holsbeeck is to hold talks with the striker about his future.
