Kompany causes Hamburg defeat

Vincent Kompany was the hero after his first game and first goal for German side Hamburg, but yesterday came the anti-climax. Hamburg lost against Werder Bremen in the semi-finals of the Liga Pokal after a mistake by Kompany.


Hamburg was reduced to ten players after a red card for Nigel de Jong, when Vincent Kompany lost the ball close to the penalty area. Torsten Frings took advantage an obtained the victory for Bremen.
