Van Holsbeeck: “Mpenza has to stay”

Yesterday Mpenza announced all of a sudden that he wants to leave Anderlecht. Vercauteren says that Mpenza is not longer wanted in the first team. Manager Van Holsbeeck doesn’t agree with the coach on that.


“I want to keep Mpenza. I still think that he is a player for Anderlecht.”, says Van Holsbeeck. Van Holsbeeck sounds surprised when they confront him with the fact that there has been an offer from a Spanish club: "I know nothing about a possible offer."
But Mpenza’s chances on playing aren’t very big. Serhat and Frutos are almost ready to play so the striker will probably have to move to the bench.
