Anderlecht could not win their first game in the Champions League. The Mauves held one point in Brussels after a 1-1 draw against Lille. A pity, because Lille scored the equalizer late in the second half.

Lille took a good start, but after 5 minutes, Anderlecht slowly took over the game. The Mauves dominated, but it was difficult to create good chances against the well organised French club. Tchité and Boussoufa had the best opportunities.

Lille counter-attacked through their fast strikers, but they didn't come any further than some efforts from distance.

Short before the break, the Mauves open the score. Pareja scores with a header on a corner kick: 1-0.

The second half is different. Lille domintated and Anderlecht counter-attacked. The best chance was for Boussoufa, but he missed the 2-0 with only the keeper left to beat. Slowly but surely, the French side increased the pressure. Most of their attacks come over the wings and trainer Vercauteren swaps Biglia for an extra defender. Unfortunatly, this caused Anderlecht to lose control over the midfield, resulting in a goal 10 minutes before time: 1-1 through Fauvergue.

Anderlecht launched a short offensive in the last few minutes, but they couldn't score anymore.
