RSC Anderlecht have lost for the first time in this Champions League campaign. The Mauves were beaten by a more experienced AC Milan with 0-1. Kaka scored the only goal of the game.

The Mauves started with offensive intentions and they were the better team in the first 10 minutes with a few small chances. The best one was for Tchité after two minutes of play, but the linesman flagged for off-side.

After 15 minutes, Milan took over the command of the game and put the home side under pressure. There were no real chances though. Inzaghi had the best one, but his header missed the goal. Zitka saved a few other shots from distance.

In the second half, Bonera was excluded by referee Cantalejo. Anderlecht felt like they could win and they pushed Milan back. But it was then that the Italian side made the difference. On a counter attack, Kaka scored with a deviated shot from outside the box. The ball went over Zitka in the upper right corner of the goal: 0-1.

Milan became more confident and controlled, even with one player less, the midfield. Anderlecht stayed concentrated and defended well. By the end of the game, the team from Brussels started their offensive. Tchité slipped through the Italian defense, but Dida saved the shot. The Mauves kept coming with Hassan, who had replaced Vanderhaeghe. His centers created panic in the visitors' defense. Goor and Frutos had a few good chances, but they missed. The last good chance came in the 88th minute. Hassan centered, but Juhasz's header came back of the upright. In the rebound, Dida saved again.

Anderlecht had no luck today and the Italians won, without playing well. They scored from what was not even a real chance and that way they took the three points back home.
