Vercauteren wants a higher level for reserves

Vercauteren didn’t select the youngsters Allagui, Siani and Lamah for the game against Dessel. They didn’t even play with the reserves against Beerschot. Vercauteren seems to have a solution for the young players.


Vercauteren: “The competition of the reserves is something for the real players. With all the respect for our opponents, but that competition is not a good training for players who are close to the first team. They play on bad field, there is no pressure…"

"That’s why I keep repeating my point. The reserves can keep playing in that competition but our players of the B-team have to get out of there. It would be good, even for Westerlo or Cercle if our B-teams could play in 2nd or 3rd class like in Spain and France. The players would have more feeling and condition and we would lose less young players"

In the mean time Anderlecht keep looking for opponents who are strong enough. It got an invitation from a Dutch top team.
