Vercauteren makes an evaluation

Anderlecht miss a chance on playing in a European competition Wednesday. Because of the draw against Athens and the victory of Lille against Milan Anderlecht ended on the last place in the ranking. Vercauteren made an evalutation.


“We didn’t get enough points and because of thaht we are not qualified for the next round of the Champions League or the UEFA Cup. But there are other things that we have to analyse. We can’t keep our level for a whole game. That’s not only in the Champions League. We have to work on that”, concluded Vercauteren.

There were a lot of problems with tactical choices of Vercauteren but he can live with the criticism. “I’m used to it that the trainer always is the one who gets blamed. That’s how it goes in football. If the results are bad, it’s the trainer’s fault. You know, nobody stays at Anderlecht for a long time. The club and the team are the most important.”
