Deschacht wants to take revenge Sunday

This Sunday the game between Anderlecht and Brussels takes place. An important game that has to be won to make sure that the calmness returns in the Astridpark after the draw against Beveren and AEK Athens.


Deschacht reacts on the criticism and explains what the problem is: “The criticism on the defence is correctly. We stopped a lot but the numbers aren’t lying, our opponents score too much. We don’t communicate enough in the back and we don’t have enough experience. I’m the oldest in the defence. You can’t expect that youngster like Pareja and De Man suddenly become a leader”, said Deschacht.

“I communicate a lot but as a left back it’s hard to talk to Pareja or Vanden Borre. We don’t have a lot of trust in the back. They blamed us a lot the past few months. It’s not easy to play in the defence of Anderlecht.”

About his own level he said this: “The people appreciate my level and that gives me wings. You can see it when I play. But I’m cautious. It can all turn around very quickly”, concluded Deschacht.
