Anderlecht beat STVV: 2-0

RSC Anderlecht have defeated STVV tonight with 2-0. With this victory, the Mauves are coming back to one point on Racing Genk. Hassan and Tchité made the goals of the game.


From the first minute on, Anderlecht tried to put pressure on the visitors. Though after getting a few chances, the pace dropped. Anderlecht controlled and STVV weren't able to create chances.

Suddenly, the Mauves got a chance after a mistake in STVV's defense. This allowed Ahmed Hassan to put the ball past the goalkeeper: 1-0. This was also the score at half time.

The second half was better with a higher pace, better combinations and more chances. Mbark Boussoufa was the author of a lot of splendid passes, but Frutos, Goor and Mpenza couldn't score. Also defender De Man had a great chance, but his shot went over the bar.

Mémé Tchité, who started on the bench, replaced Mpenza after 60 minutes. A bit later he scored on a perfect pass of Boussoufa: 2-0. Goor had the best chance to make it 3-0 with a header and a shot, but Deelkens saved twice.

The only good chance of STVV came a few minutes before time, but Zitka stopped the shot.
