Von Schlebrügge: "I don't know anyone here"

Max von Schlebrügge was relieved that his transfer to Anderlecht was completed successfully. "At last I'm playing for a great team", he stated. "The only problem is that I don't know anyone here. I just saw Anderlecht on tv.&


"I really wanted to come to Anderlecht, I'm almost thirty so it was now or never for me", he explained his choice. My mobile phone didn't work in Ecuador, so I had to do all communication with Anderlecht by internet. As negotiations were on the verge of being cancelled, I explained Hammarby that I really wanted to join Anderlecht. That made the difference", the defender knows.

"My skills? My pace and headers. I'm not going to tell you my weaknesses", he laughed. The Swedish defender has a long last name, and that might cause problems when printing the shirts. "I don't want "v. Brügge" on my shirt, no one abbreviates my last name. It will be von Schleebrügge or just Max."

The new defender celebrates his birthday on February 1 and will probably play his first game on February 3, against Westerlo. "That is the best birthday present I can ever imagine", von Schlebrügge states.
