Anderlecht easily beat Brussels 6-0, while title rivals Racing Genk lost its home game against Charleroi. With only one match remaining Anderlecht have a 5-point advantage, and have thus won its 29th championship title!

Again the pressure was high: With only two games left, Anderlecht could not afford to drop points in the race for the title. On top of that, FC Brussels chairman Vermeersch promised the game would be a battle. At the same time, title rivals Racing Genk received Charleroi at home.

The pressure was soon alleviated, however: Hassan opened the score 7 minutes into the game. Biglia recuperated the ball in midfield and sent the Egyptian clear through the Brussels defence to score the 1-0. Ten minutes later, Frutos doubled the lead by heading in a center coming from Biglia's foot: 2-0. This was also the score at half-time. Brussels could not create a single chance.

At the same time, the news reached the Anderlecht stadium that Racing Genk were trailing 0-1 behind against Charleroi. The suspense in the Constant Vanden Stock stadium mounted: Anderlecht were on the brink of winning their 29th title.

In the second half, Anderlecht continued pushing Brussels back. Biglia made his first goal for Anderlecht with a penalty kick after a foul on Boussoufa. The Argentinian midfielder was moved to tears.

Fifteen minutes before the final whistle a buzz went through the stadium. Racing Genk were now trailing 0-2 behind! A new championship title was now merely minutes away.

The crowd was already celebrating and the team went along. Jelle Van Damme put the 4-0 on the board when his center was deflected by a Brussels defender. Tchité was brought in and immediately added to his goal counter by scoring twice in the last 5 minutes. The first after a free kick, the second from the penalty spot. Anderlecht have managed to score a whopping 19 goals in its last three league games!

The festivities could begin: Genk did not overcome its 2-goal deficit. The stadium exploded and celebrated the 29th league title!
