Ariël Jacobs preferred a as assistant coach in Anderlecht to the function as head coach of Mouscron. Nevertheless, he does not regret his transfer at all. "This is a new world that opens for me. Anderlecht are so professional."

"I dedicated the first weeks to observing the team", Jacobs explains. "I wanted to know what Vercauteren wants to achieve. The team building sessions were new to me, and I noticed a lot of motivation amongst the players", Jacobs states.

The most important task of the assistant coach is to take care of the warming-up. Also tactical decisions on offensive and defensive static phases are the task of Jacobs. "Frank Vercauteren, Daniël Renders and I exchange a lot of tasks. That keeps us sharp and motivated", is Jacobs's opinion.

Going from head coach to assistant coach does not look positive, but Ariël Jacobs thinks about it in a different way. "This was higher step in my career as a trainer. I can work at the highest level, I can even play Champions League here. It would have been silly to refuse an offer like this", Jacobs concludes.
