Anderlecht victorious in Supercup

The Mauves obtained their first trophy of the new season. The final result in the game against Club Bruges was 3-1 with goals of matchwinner Boussoufa, Mpenza and Hassan.


Anderlecht started well and opened the score with a free kick in the 4th minute. Boussoufa's effort went over goalkeeper Stijnen against the net. Bruges couldn't react and the home side kept pushing them back on their own half. Chances of Tchité and Mpenza were missed.

The first chance for the visitors came after 30 minutes of play, but Sterchele couldn't reach Balaban's center.

Shortly before the pause, Van Damme reached Boussoufa who centered for Mpenza. His low header doubled the score: 2-0.

Bruges tried to turn the tide in the first 10 minutes of the 2nd half, but Zitka kept the lead standing. Though Djokic eventually beat the goalie: 2-1. On the other side, Tchité missed an open chance.

Slowly, Anderlecht took over the command of the game again. A few minutes before time, Hassan scored the 3-1 on a nice pass of Boussoufa.
