Anderlecht are still interested in Somoza and Polak, but the transfer soap just goes on. "I'm quite sure that Jan Polak won't come to Anderlecht, and I told Van Holsbeeck and Collin this", Zitka states.

Jan Polak is fighting for a place in the starting line-up in Nürnberg but he does not lose track of Anderlecht. The Czech midfielder sent Zitka a message after the Anderlecht victory against Club Bruges in the Supercup. "Polak wanted to congratulate Anderlecht", the goalkeeper reacts. "I replied that we are still dreaming of signing him and that we can always use a player with his skills. But I have to say that I don't think that Polak will come", Zitka states.

The hope to transfer Argentinian midfielder Leandro Somoza has also diminished. Villarreal wants to let their midfielder go, but that caught the interest of Betis Sevilla. Hector Cuper, the Argentinian coach of Betis, already admitted he would like to sign his fellow countryman.

Herman Van Holsbeeck handles the pressure very well. "I'm sure that our first signing will be a midfielder. Polak or Somoza are still possible, but we are also scouting other midfielders", the Anderlecht manager admits.
