Anderlecht obtained a narrow win against KV Mechelen in the final minutes, and all players agreed on the fact that the Mauves made a poor performance. Nevertheless, the result was more important than the performance.

"We were nowhere today", captain Olivier Deschacht admitted. "We just stole two points today. Everyone underestimated KV Mechelen. I have to congratulate them with their performance, but they didn't score and we did."

"This was a tough match for us", was the opinion of manager Herman Van Holsbeeck. "Our key players, like for example Boussoufa or Hassan, played poor today. KV Mechelen will leave a good impression in the Jupiler League, I'm sure of that."

"We won three points, and that's the only thing we have to remember today. We were lucky, but now we have already played our toughest away match, and that's an advantage", Jelle Van Damme stated.

"I've never scored a goal in the final minute", Marcin Wasilewski reacted. "I always kept thinking we could win, and that paid off. I score very easily, but that doesn't mean I'm a striker." The defender was very emotional after the game. "I was so excited after my goal that I took off my shirt and received a yellow card. But don't worry, usually I'm a lot calmer", Wasilewski admitted.
