Serhat Akin is back !

After being injured for a long time, Serhat Akin is getting a new chance to prove himself. The Turkish striker resumed trainings with the A-team. Last year, Akin player on loan for FC Köln in Germany.


With Tchité, Mpenza and Théréau performing under their usual level and Frutos injured, Serhat gets a new chance to get into the starting line-up. Yesterday, he already passed the medical tests.

"I'm not feeling any pain anymore. I want to play as soon as possible. Soon, I'll have a talk with the manager and the trainer. I realise I have to work hard, but I know I can be of value for Anderlecht. Maybe I'll return stronger than ever before!"

Also manager Van Holsbeeck noticed Akin changed in a positive way: "I'm not looking for a new striker anyore. With Akin returning to the team, we have an extra very motivated striker. He'll be on his best again within the next three weeks."
