Mark De Man did not receive a call-up for the national team. At the same time he's watching Anderlecht games from the bench. Yet he remains optimistic. "I will do everything to get back into the team."

"I realise that I'm dealing with heavy competition. If I want to compete with the likes of Kompany, Van Buyten, Simons or Fellaini I will need to be in top shape," says the midfielder.

De Man realises that he is not in top form at the moment. "I played a poor game against Dender and I had to pay for it. The coach put me on the bench and told me why. He clearly told me what he expects of me and I have respect for that. It's up to me to do everything I can to get back in the starting line-up," said De Man.
