For the fourth time in a row Anderlecht did not succeed in winning in the Belgian league. An extra-time penalty converted by Nicolas Frutos secured a point in a hard-fought game.

Winning in Vienna did not lead to a much hoped-for turn-around for Anderlecht in the Belgian league. In Roeselare the team maintained its dominance over the home team but did not manage to convert that possession in chances or goals. It was Roeselare that surprisingly came ahead. Dissa pounced on an error by Wasilewski and scored the 1-0.

Anderlecht was determined to erase the home team's lead but was stunned when that same Dissa went on to mount the lead to 2-0. Vercauteren decided to send in Frutos. It meant the first league appearance for the Argentinian striker this season. The presence of Frutos brought more fire into the team.

Anderlecht searched feverishly for a goal and was awarded 10 minutes before the final whistle. A stunner from Jan Polak brought Anderlecht to 2-1. The Brussels' club continued to press on and substitute Théréau came close to the equaliser. His header was blocked on the touchline.

Vercauteren's men had to wait until extra-time for a deserved equaliser. Polak was brought down in the box. Frutos remained calm and converted the penalty. Anderlecht drop to sixth place in the competition and sees the gap between leaders Standard grow to 7 points.
