Beerschot seemed to be able to hold Anderlecht on a deserved draw in the Constant Vanden Stock Stadium, but Bassegio headed, in the 87th minute, the 1-0 score on the board.

The Mauves started the game furious and put a lot of pressure on Beerschot in the first quarter. But that didn't result in a lot of chances and slowly GBA, under the lead of Degryse, restored the balance. Beerschot even got the best chance of the first half through Mutavdic: he appeared alone in front of De Wilde, but he missed.
In the second half Beerschot kept on playing well and when Kpaka broke through and was about to score, De Wilde tackled him outside the box, but the referee only gave yellow in stead of a red card. On the other side, De Bilde had hit the post and Jestrovic missed a great chance, but the game seemed to end on a fait draw, until Mornar centered from the flank and Bassegio headed the ball in the goal. That way, Anderlecht is still in the race for a new title.
