Olivier Deschacht isn't happy with the interest in Filip Daems, who also is a left defender. He says it is a waste of money and doesn't understand why Anderlecht wants to buy him.

"It won't be a bad football player that Anderlecht wants to buy. The coach said they were looking for back-up. But you can add up what that player will cost, and what his wage will be. What about our own youth? That new player can break me mentally, or make me twice as strong. I hope it will be the last thing."

But Hugo Broos wants to calm him down. "I don't doubt about the qualities of Deschacht", he says. "But it's wise to have some back-up, just in case... Now I only have Deschacht and Zewlakow, but who will be my right defender then? The interest in Jelle Van Damme is just a news fact."
