RSC Anderlecht obtained its first point in the Champions League. It played a 1-1 draw on the field of Lokomotiv Moscow. The game started with a minute of silence for the victims of the attack on America.


Afterwards, the spectators could see a game in which the 2 teams were worth each other. After 10 minutes, Anderlecht got its first corner kick. 5 minutes later, Hendrikx headed the 0-1 past the Moscow defender after a good center of De Bilde. One minute later, Aruna got another good chance, but he missed.
Only 3 minutes later, Lokomotiv Moscow equalised through Maminov. He defeated De Wilde with a hard shot. From then on, Moscow started pushing Anderlecht back. Lokomotiv created several good chances. The best was right before half time, with a ball on the crossbar.

Also after the break, the Mauves were under pressure. Moscow was close to the winning goal, but the Anderlecht defense held, although they had difficulties at some moments.
The Belgian champion couldn't create much chances themself, only a header of Mornar and a shot of Aruna could be called dangerous.
That way it remained 1-1. In the group of Anderlecht, Real Madrid also won with 1-2 at AS Roma
