This week it became clear that Cyril Théréau might leave the club and return to Steaua Bucharest. "I'm 24, it's an age you simply have to play. There are several clubs interested. I could stay in Anderlecht, or go to Steaua."

Despite those transfer rumours the French striker made a good impression when he replaced the injured Frutos early in the second half. "Although we played a good game there was some frustration in the dressing room. It's too bad we missed the chance to qualify. It's the second time we miss the qualification. We should've qualified in Aalborg," said the Frenchman in Het Nieuwsblad.

"Perhaps lots of people were surprised that I played well. I never stopped believing in myself and my qualities. Although it did annoy me when I received all that criticism."
