Since joining the club in the summer, Cyril Théréau has not succeeded in making an impact. The Frenchman reacts to the growing criticism. "I'm not the only responsible one for the weak performances of Anderlecht."

"When I hear that some consider me the worst player in the squad then that influences my performances," said the striker in Het Nieuwsblad. "My arrival here came on a bad moment. I was injured and I underestimated that injury."

He also blames the board for not supporting him in such a difficult period. "I feel victim of the club's politics. The club paid a lot for me but it doesn't protect me. Some people don't take their responsability. They hide behind the fact that I'm a transfer of (ex-Anderlecht scout, red) Raymond Mommens. They use me to criticize him. The club would be better off if it would protect their players instead of openly criticizing them," concluded Théréau.
