GAMES Anderlecht started the league with a win against Waasland Beveren. The Mauves gave away a 2-0 lead and were only able to score the winning goal in the very last second of the match through Youri Tielemans.

Anderlecht dominated the first half and already scored after three minutes: the ball hit the crossbar and Gillet was able to push the ball against the net in the rebound. The Mauves kept creating chances, but the last pass was mostly not good enough. There were still a lot of miscommunications between Suarez and Sylla. Langil had the only chance for the visitors in the first 45 minutes, but he missed. Sylla doubled the lead after half an hour of play after an assist of Suarez.

The second half started more or less the same. Deschacht saw his effort cleared from the goal line. Slowly but surely, the visitors started creating chances. On a counter attack, the goal fell: 2-1 through Langil. Anderlecht did not wake up though and kept playing in a nonchalant way. When Vanzo dribbled past Gillet in the box, he even succeeded in scoring the 2-2. With just 15 minutes left, RSCA needed a new offensive. But that offensive only started a few minutes before the end. The Mauves collected a bunch of corner kicks, but couldn't score. Until Tielemans' effort from 30 meters went over goalkeeper Henkinet into the goal: 3-2 and game over.
