Efficient Anderlecht wins easily

Efficient Anderlecht wins easily

An efficient Anderlecht has beaten Cercle Brugge 3-0. Anderlecht did not play thunderously, but struck when possible against a (far)weak(t) Cercle. Leoni gave the home team the lead and immediately afterwards Dreyer doubled the score after a Cercle mistake. In a dull second half, Leoni made it 3-0 after a Warleson blunder. Yet there was also a damper on the revelry. Both Dreyer and Schmeichel had to leave early and it is to be hoped that their injuries are not too serious. Read more »

Cheap penalty too much for weak Anderlecht

Despite Dreyer equalizing, a contentious penalty sealed Anderlecht's fate. The defeat sees Genk re-enter the title race, while Anderlecht must now focus on their upcoming matches against Cercle. Anderlecht finally wins against Union, but loses Hazard

Anderlecht finally wins against Union, but loses Hazard

Anderlecht finally managed to win from Union. It became 2-1 after yet another incident-rich derby. Anderlecht struck early through Dolberg, but lost Hazard before halftime with what is believed to be a serious knee injury. Union, which had more ball possession, equalized after halftime through a penalty after VAR intervention. Debast was given two yellow cards. With a man down, Anderlecht continued to fight for what it was worth. Sardella reached Amuzu who gave Anderlecht the win. An important win for Purple and White, but obviously far from decisive because there are still many matches to play, matches in which Anderlecht will probably not be able to count on Hazard. Anderlecht wins with smallest difference

Anderlecht wins with smallest difference

Anderlecht started the Champions playoffs well. They won 1-0 against Antwerp, although tomorrow they can bring a big basket of chocolate eggs to Wijndal, who got a red card shortly before half-time. Indeed, in that first half Anderlecht struggled, but after halftime they did create chances against a man less. Sardella pushed a cross into goal and could have scored a few more times after that as well. Antwerp had a big chance through Balikwisha after halftime, but otherwise Purple and White had no problems with the champion.
