GAMES Anderlecht suffered a 2-0 defeat against AA Ghent this afternoon. Laurent Depoitre scored two goals for Ghent and Anderlecht made a poor performance against the current Belgian champions.

It only took ten minutes for Ghent to take the lead. Brecht Dejaegere with a tremendous effort, Depoitre opened the score. Twenty minutes later, another attempt of Milicevic hit the post. Anderlecht were really dominated in the first half, only Matias Suarez had one scoring opportunity, but in vain.

Also in the second half Ghent were the best team on the pitch. Coach Besnik Hasi replaced Trézéguet by Lukebakio and Anderlecht started to play better. Stefano Okaka and Lukebakio both had a chance to score, but were both not fortunate. Shortly before the final whistle Kara lost the ball in the defence and Depoitre did not hesitate: 2-0 after two attempts, however in an offside position.

Anderlecht are now ranked third, five points behind leader AA Ghent. Club Bruges two points ahead of Anderlecht.
